My name is Nancy Gail J. O’Connell, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and it is my sincere passion to help others. Through my graduate-level training at Pepperdine University, I've gained a thorough understanding of the human experience and in providing healing therapeutic interventions to individuals of all ages for clinical issues such as Anxiety Disorders, Major Depression, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I have experience working within an array of clinical settings to include: residential treatment, intensive outpatient, school based service, in-home service, as well as the private sector. During the course of my career, I have completed training in various therapeutic treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Trauma-Focused Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), and Eye-Movement and Desensitization (EMDR) Therapy. My clinical focus is oriented to the treatment and resolution of stress and trauma symptoms for adult women.
The heart of my approach focuses on helping you experience a healing sense of relief from emotional pain and symptoms that interfere with your ability to live a happy and fulfilling life. My approach combines evidence-based practices and Psychodynamic techniques to help meet your goals for your treatment experience. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore personal challenges, while gaining a new level of insight into yourself. Through this process, I believe this is where true, meaningful change can occur in your life. I offer my expertise and professional commitment to you as you embark on your journey to wellness.
I work with adult women to provide an emotionally safe space where you can increase your understanding of yourself and feel better. Many individuals I work with have often struggled with painful symptoms for years and seek therapy when their former ways of coping are no longer effective.
My specialty includes treating emotionally overwhelmed women who struggle with issues such as excessive and persistent worrying, feelings of stress and anxiety, loneliness, and ongoing feelings of sadness.

This type of therapy has been extensively researched and is successful in helping individuals overcome the negative effects of traumatic experiences and emotional distress. If you're looking for a safe and effective way to deal with the lingering effects of trauma, anxiety, or depression, EMDR Therapy may be the right choice for you
